About the Role

As a counselor, you’ll guide and supervise a group of campers through daily activities like Nature, Art, Music, Archery, and Sports. You’ll ensure their safety, engage with them during activities, and help create a fun and inclusive atmosphere.

You’ll work with campers in 1st through 6th grades, divided into age-based groups. We aim to match counselors with the age groups they feel most comfortable working with.

While experience is helpful, it’s not required. We provide thorough training to prepare you for success as a counselor.

Depending on your role, you may lead or assist in activities. Some counselors specialize in areas like Sports or Art, while others support campers as they rotate through all activities.

Training and Preparation

Yes! We require multiple training days before the summer begins. These sessions cover safety protocols, activity planning, camper behavior management, and team-building.

No certifications are required to apply, but if a role requires specific skills (like Archery), we’ll provide any needed training.

Yes, our training days are a great opportunity to meet your fellow counselors, activity specialists, and leadership team. We also make it a priority to make working at camp fun for our team, so we will have various social outings and social opportunities throughout the summer to help the team bond.

Work Schedule and Time Off

Each day includes leading campers through activities, helping with special events, and building relationships with your group. Your schedule will balance active supervision with occasional downtime.

Our camp runs during the day, so counselors typically work from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM. We work to ensure a manageable workload, there will be some activities where other counselors take the lead and encourage counselors to reach out for any needed support or breaks. Our leadership team will ensure that counselors are enjoying their time at camp and we are always happy to help.

Yes, as a day camp, you’ll have evenings and weekends off to recharge between sessions.

Compensation and Benefits

Our salary ranges from $15 – $30 per hour based on experience, age, and education.

There will also be added opportunities for paid stipends when we have certain events on campus.

In addition to offering a competitive salary, we offer robust benefits including access to the fitness center and access to the pool outside of camp hours.

We also include complimentary lunch, various staff outings, and other benefits throughout the summer. Feel free to hit the gym before camp and take a splash in the pool after the day is over!

We offer daily lunch to all staff and include vegetarian and gluten-free options. We will also have additional meals and treats throughout the summer.

Camp Culture and Policies

We’re committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and fun environment where campers and counselors alike can build confidence, explore new activities, and form lasting friendships.

We’ll provide guidance during training on managing camper behavior in a positive, supportive way. Our leadership team is always available to assist if challenges arise so counselors can continue leading their group in the fun, enriching activities.

Miscellaneous

We encourage comfortable, camp-friendly clothing appropriate for outdoor activities. Counselors will also need to wear their camp shirt daily and they are encouraged to participate on special dress-up days (like Olympics Day)!
