Meet Dan, Our Camp Director
Dan has been dedicated to Youth Development since 1995, serving as a teacher, coach, and camp director. He is excited to be the inaugural Camp Director for The Summer Camp at Episcopal. Having started as a camp counselor and division head, Dan has seen firsthand how camp fosters friendships, builds self-confidence, and creates lifelong memories.
With over 17 years of experience as the Director of the successful Congressional Camp, Dan brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for creating enriching summer experiences for campers.
Outside of camp, Dan enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Kim, their three daughters—Kendra, Kinley, and Kaila—and their beloved dog, Walter. He looks forward to kicking off another memorable camp season this June.
Meet Julio, Our Assistant Camp Director
Julio has been passionate about youth development for 12 years, serving as a dedicated educator, mentor, and camp leader. As a native Spanish speaker and experienced teacher, he is excited to bring his skills to The Summer Camp at Episcopal and is always eager to share his culture and language with others. Julio is thrilled to be part of the inaugural team, bringing his experience and enthusiasm to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment while helping to create an unforgettable summer for campers and families.
Julio holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from George Mason University. He first discovered his passion for summer camps as a counselor, where he experienced firsthand how camp can foster personal growth, build lasting friendships, and create unforgettable memories. With a strong background in program development and camper engagement, Julio is dedicated to providing each camper with a meaningful and enriching experience.
Outside of camp, Julio enjoys reading about current events, working on data analysis projects, and spending time with his wife, his dog, and his cats. He is looking forward to an exciting and fun-filled summer at Episcopal!
Meet Damian Walsh, Director of Partner Programs
Damian serves as the Assistant Director of Athletics and Assistant Dean of Residential Life at Episcopal during the academic year. A former professional athlete, he brings extensive experience in training and supporting student-athletes to help them thrive.
Damian earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Exercise Science from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He also gained coaching experience as a graduate assistant there and at Eastern Illinois University.
In addition to his roles in athletics and residential life, Damian is an integral member of the Summer Programs Team. He oversees all Episcopal’s summer partner programs, working closely with Security, Dining, Health, Athletics, and Facilities teams to ensure a seamless and enriching experience for summer campers and staff.
Known for his incredible work ethic and tireless dedication, Damian is always on the move, ensuring that every program he oversees runs smoothly and successfully.
